Allard Construction Ltd have secured a contract circa 2.1 million at K1 Knightsbridge for Skanska where we will deliver a package consisting of the refurbishment of the existing Grade II listed building including new roof coverings and replacing existing roof coverings to all roof and terraces as required utilising natural products such as slate and lead. We will be working in close conjunction with Proteus Waterproofing Ltd. on all flat roof areas.
Our Rotherham Branch have secured a contract circa £550,000. We have been appointed by GMI Construction Group to carry out a roofing and cladding package at Dragon Lane in Durham working alongside Arcelor Mittal. Allard Construction will be carrying out works to both the Unit A Lidl and Unit B The Range. Works on site have commenced which you can view on our LinkedIn page, further updates to follow.
We are also excited to announce that we have secured our first project with Barratt Homes / David Wilson Homes.
This month Steve Gomez, our Procurement Manager, retired from Allard Construction Ltd. From the entire Allard team we wish Steve the happiest of retirements and thank him for his dedication over the last 6 years.

Allard Construction Ltd has been nominated for the Lead Roofing award for our St Marks Church project where we undertook the re-roofing works of the Grade One listed building. This was both a brilliant and challenging project to be associated with; we met several design challenges due to the Heritage of the building but easily overcame these and as result the final project succeeded the Client’s desires within budget and within the contract time frame.

We are thrilled to announce that our accreditation with CHAS has been upgraded to the next level this year where we have obtained a CHAS Premium Plus certification!
In addition to the CHAS upgrade we have successfully upgraded our Construction Line certification. We have now been awarded with a Gold Certificate.
Following our audit beginning of this month we are also delighted to announce that we have successfully passed Achilles.

Appointed by Galliford Try, Allard Construction Ltd are currently carrying out works on the £29.3 million contract at Leeds Beckett University. A new building is being constructed for the Carneige School of Sport which consists of dedicated research laboratories, a health and wellbeing studio, indoor rooftop sprint track, a roof walking track and terrace, strength and conditioning space and changing and recovering facilities.
Allard Construction Ltd have carried works out on the North block roof where we have installed a hotmelt system to the inverted roof inclusive of a public seating area. Granite flags and a sedum roof will be installed across the entire roof area.
Works are also being carried out on the South block roof which consists of a hotmelt inverted roof with a ballast finish. The installation of a tapered insulation system to the running track roof will follow with a single ply membrane to finish.

Allard Construction Ltd have a variety of training courses coming up this year for our Managers, Site Supervisors and Operatives.
Tom Forey, our Contracts Supervisor, will be undertaking his NVQ Level 3 Occupational Work Supervision Advanced Apprenticeship.
This month we have also arranged for our operatives to attend the Sika Liquid Plastics Basic Competency Programme. Our operatives will gain up-to-date application training from Sika in turn solidifying their current knowledge and gaining new skills to advance their level of workmanship.
Supporting local, national and global charities is extremely important to our company and we aim to support a variety of campaigns every month.
March is the awareness month for Prostate Cancer which is an extremely important campaign to many employees here at Allard Construction Ltd. Over the next few months we will be promoting the awareness of the disease and taking part in different events to raise money for the incredible charity Prostate Cancer UK.
Harry Sullivan, our Director’s Assistant, will be participating in the Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday 26th May in aid of Prostate Cancer UK. The Edinburgh Marathon alone has so far raised over £40 million. Click the links below if you would like to find out more about this event and the charity.

In addition to Harry’s marathon in May, our Director Aaron and some members of the team are planning on taking part in the Virgin Sport 10K run around London on the 21st July in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.

On Friday 15th March the Admin ladies at Head Office held a bake sale in aid of Comic Relief for Red Nose Day. The day was a great success where we raised £146.10. Thank you to everyone who baked some delicious treats and to everyone who donated. Photos from the event are on our LinkedIn page.

Our team create Occupational Health & Wellbeing Campaigns for our staff which are delivered via email, posters or during our toolbox talks on site.
