In October Allard Construction secured a multi trade contract circa £3,000,000 where we will deliver a multi trade roofing and carpentry package at 53-93 Knightsbridge for Sir Robert McAlpine which will be undertaken from June 2019.
The Southern division have begun works on our circa £2,000,000 contract with Balfour Beatty at 1 Palace Street, London where we are delivering a multi trade roofing works package.
We are delighted to note that Allard Construction have obtained a 45% increase on turnover this financial year end which closed in August 2018.
Firstly, we have been nominated for the ‘Commercial Property Application Using Slate’ award for our recent project, St Marks Church. As a company we were delighted to win this contract to undertake the re-roofing of St Marks Grade One listed church. Working on Heritage buildings always presents design challenges to overcome but we feel we have the experience and knowledge to assist companies such as the Heritage Design Team from Grosvenor Estates and English Heritage in achieving the desired goal; within budget and time perimeters.
Allard Construction were able to advise the Design Team to ensure we were able to implement modern building standards alongside the Listed building requirements; altering the design of the original ridge to allow free flowing ventilation to be incorporated into every area of the roof, without altering the height of the building.
Our second nomination is for our Managing Director, Jerry Sullivan. Jerry has been nominated for ‘Outstanding Contribution of the Year’ to the industry and although we’re biased, we could not think of anyone more deserving. A brief biography for Jerry would say that he begun his journey in the industry over 45 years ago as a general labourer; showing passion for the tasks at hand he quickly progressed to run his own supply and install roofing company which carried out thousands of high-quality Pitched roofing and Leadwork projects. Since then, he has become the Manager Director of Allard Construction and is responsible for continuing to lead and develop our business.
For this project, Allard Construction worked on behalf of Make Consulting Ltd who work directly with the secondary school. We resurfaced two original tennis and netball courts with a tarmac surface including both the painting of new lines and full replacement of the existing wire fence.
Allard Construction were appointed by Surveyors 2 Education. We installed a cold applied 25 year warranted system. Coinciding with the waterproofing works, we upgraded the building and in turn improved the energy efficiency by introducing a new flat board insulation system.
The health and wellbeing of each and every one of our people is our top priority. To raise awareness of some of the health issues faced by our workforce on a daily basis; which can often have serious, long-term or even life-changing effects, we are producing monthly Occupational Health & Wellbeing Campaigns for our staff. These campaigns are delivered to all our staff via email, posters and toolbox talks on site. Here we understand that having a healthy and motivated workforce will in turn create a positive impact on the productivity and effectiveness of their work.
Every month we post our Occupational Health & Wellbeing campaigns on our website as well as our LinkedIn and Twitter platforms. Click on the link below to view our December campaign regarding Alcohol Awareness and make sure to look out for our 2019 campaigns.
Allard Construction Ltd understands the importance of supporting charities locally, nationally and globally. Donating to charity not only benefits the organisation but is also extremely rewarding for the company and our employees.
This October we held our own Macmillan Coffee Morning where the Admin team baked some delicious cakes and savoury snacks to sell to other members of staff and neighbouring companies. The morning was a great success among the Allard Team where we raised £230.00 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
For our December charity this year we have decided to support Samaritan’s Operation Christmas Child. Allard employees filled shoe boxes with small toys, hygiene items and school supplies for children affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine, and disease. The charity then globally distributed these boxes as a Christmas gift to less fortunate children. If you are interested in finding out more information regarding this charity visit www.samaritans-purse.org.uk.
Our next major charity event will be held in March 2019 to support Prostate Cancer. Please keep a look out on our LinkedIn and Twitter pages for any updates and additional charity news.
